so last weekend some new expats arrived from germany.
they asked us to show them around, so we planned to take them with us
on an easy land’s end hike on sunday.
but the city was very foggy and one could barely enjoy the presidio’s lovely vistas. so we just kept going north (crossing the golden gate bridge…everybody LOVES that ;D). and again marin county did not disappoint: it was very sunny on this side of the bridge - as it always seems to be when the city itself drowns in fog.
together we discovered the paradise beach county park in tiburon.
what a lovely spot! we had a neat little picnic here and a nice chat.
awww…their exitement and thousands of questions concerning where to live, where to shop, what to do etc. took me back to our first few days in the states.
it’s so cool to be reminded that this foreign deployment is, indeed, an awesome adventure - and to relive this exiting arrival time a bit with them…
